Thrive Asheville is an approach to community problem-solving.

Connect Problem-Solvers

We bring together local community advocates, policymakers, and professionals from diverse backgrounds to address our city’s toughest challenges. We connect, so leaders can spend time fostering new and deeper relationships.

Facilitate Shared Learning

We share research and tools these leaders may not have the budget or capacity to easily access on their own. We facilitate, so leaders can spend time learning together.

Coordinate Community-Led Solutions

Together, the talented people we convene at Thrive Asheville develop equitable, research-driven solutions. We coordinate, so leaders can spend time creating solutions.

Track Results

We are serious about data and impact. We measure results through an equity lens, looking for results that will strengthen our civic infrastructure and make our city a better place for us all. We track results so leaders can make the best decisions about our future.

“Working together is critical to finding new solutions, and Thrive Asheville is helping us do just that.”

Asking tough questions, rooted in equity

Thrive Asheville brings local residents together to solve local challenges. We believe that we can be better if we work together better. We use research, education, and advocacy to connect community leaders to ideas and solutions for a sustainable, affordable, and inclusive Asheville.

We use an equity lens to examine every issue in front of us. That means we purposely look at race, ethnicity, gender, and other factors that have marginalized groups in every solution on the table and every proposed metric of success.

We must ask and answer together questions like: How can our civic institutions work so that all of us can flourish? What would it mean for Asheville if we invested in building relationships in infrastructure that makes everyone's life better? Are we thinking big enough to demonstrate the potential for meaningful change?
